013：本日の1分英会話ネタ：要領の良い人

内容：
Some people work more efficiently than others. When I was in high school, I had a friend who shocked me. He was the captain of his high school's soccer team, and he was a good soccer player. He seemed to love soccer. I knew that he put in a lot of effort to become a good player. While he was into playing soccer, he was getting good grades in the end of semester exams. I wondered how he could get such good grades when he was practicing soccer more than others. Since then, I had been observing his study style. Since then, I have observed his study style and  realized that he was not just taking lessons. He seemed to focus on doing the workbook and the homework related to the lesson during the lesson time. Focusing on listening to the teacher is not always the right way to study although such students maybe make them happy. I have learned from him what efficiency is. This insight still helps me a lot to me even now.

要領が良い人というのがいます。私が高校生の頃、衝撃を受けた友人がいました。彼は高校のサッカー部でキャプテンを務めていて、サッカーが上手でした。彼はサッカーが大好きなようでした。良い選手になるためにたくさんの努力をしていることを知っていました。彼はサッカーに夢中になっている一方で、学期末試験ではいつも良い成績を残していました。人一倍サッカーの練習をしているのに、どうしてあんなに良い成績が取れるのだろうと不思議に思いました。それ以来、彼の勉強スタイルを観察していたのですが、ただ単に授業を受けているだけではないことに気づきました。彼は授業中に、その授業に関連した問題集や宿題を解くことに集中しているようでした。先生の話を聞くことに集中するのは彼らを喜ばせるかもしれませんが、必ずしも正しい勉強法ではありません。私は彼から要領が良いとは何かを学びました。この気づきは、今でも私にとって大きな助けとなっています。
